Piano instructors at NSM are highly qualified and aim to make learning piano a positive and enjoyable experience

for each student. In addition to broadening a student's musical knowledge and repertoire, NSM teachers work to

help students develop and improve their sight reading skills, and learn proper piano technique. Although NSM

generally follows the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum, other music styles are instructed upon request.

Violin, Viola and Cello instruction and coaching are offered at NSM. Learning a string instrument improves

hand-eye coordination and aural skills; it also opens up future possibilities such as playing in school and

intermediate level orchestras, playing in smaller chamber ensembles.

This exciting class is open to advanced music students and also to those who appreciate music, and is

designed to inspire an awareness of different musical styles by attending a variety of concerts. Students will

have one monthly group class with the instructor where different aspects of performance will be discussed;

students will also attend one concert each month, and write a short report about each event.

This group music class discusses different aspects of performance and allows advanced music students

to practice performing music repertoire in a positive and safe environment. Enrolled students will be

invited to participate in music outreach performances organized by NSM, and is excellent for students
