PIANO/KEYBOARD LESSONS |
Fall Semester Private classes Sep. 6 – June 22, 2019 Piano instructors at NSM are highly qualified and aim to make learning piano a positive and enjoyable experience for each student. In addition to broadening a student's musical knowledge and repertoire, NSM teachers work
to help students develop and improve their sight reading skills, and
learn proper piano technique. Although NSM generally follows the Royal
Conservatory of Music curriculum, other music styles are instructed upon request. |
VIOLIN,

Winter Semester Private Classes Jan. 7 – June 26, 2018 Violin, Viola and Cello instruction and coaching are offered at NSM. Learning a string instrument improves hand-eye coordination and aural skills; it also opens up future possibilities such as playing in school and intermediate level orchestras, playing in smaller chamber ensembles. |
DICTION |
Winter Semester Jan. 6 – June 22, 2019 Singing, vocal training and diction for singers are offered to students of all levels and ages in all styles. |
SIGHT SINGING CHAMBER MUSIC |
Ear Training & Sight Reading Tuesday 6:00-6:30pm Sep – Dec 2018 Jan – June 2019 This introductory 12-week class helps music students to train their aural skills, to sing different note pitches, and to identify different music intervals. This class is particularly excellent in preparation for Royal Conservatory of Music examinations. INTRODUCTION TO PIANO PEDAGOGY |
Sunday 6:00pm-7:00pm Jan-Mar 2019 April– June 2019 $230 This weekly class combines discussion of different teaching methods with practical hands on experience and prepares advanced music students to teach students of their own. Enrolled students will have the chance to put their skills into practice by teaching beginner and intermediate students in-class. |
EAR TRAINING & SIGHT SINGING | Tuesday 6:00-6:30pm Jan-Mar 2019 April-June 2019
This
introductory 12-week class helps music students to train their aural

MASTERCLASS I:

This exciting class is open to advanced music students and also to those who appreciate music, and is designed to inspire an awareness of different musical styles by attending a variety of concerts. Students will have one monthly group class with the instructor where different aspects of performance will be discussed; students will also attend one concert each month, and write a short report about each event. |
MASTERCLASS II: RECITAL PERFORMANCE PRACTICE |
Day/Time TBA Jan -March 2019 April– June 2019 $190 This group music class discusses different aspects of performance and allows advanced music students to practice performing music repertoire in a positive and safe environment. Enrolled students will be invited to participate in music outreach performances organized by NSM, and is excellent for students preparing for RCM music exams, music auditions, music festivals and other recital performances. |
